Preparing Scranton For the Future

"A Fire That Kindles Other Fires" will prepare our students for tomorrow's ever-changing global economy and provide our faculty with the resources they require to excel. By building on our strategic plan, we will inspire our community to invest in Scranton's future through three essential pillars: advancing the mission, increasing access and affordability, and achieving excellence.

Advancing The Mission

In the spirit of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, The ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà answers the challenges of our times by building on our strengths, embracing innovative new ways of proceeding, and remaining deeply committed to our mission as a Catholic and Jesuit institution. With an ambitious goal of $60 million for mission-specific causes,  the ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà is planning for the future with a confidence inspired by both our past successes and the shared sense of ownership displayed throughout the campus community. By ensuring that the Scranton student experience remains a transformational experience grounded in the humanities, we will continue to prepare Scranton students to set the world on fire.

Increasing Access & Affordability

Cost continues to remain a barrier for many prospective students seeking to study at Scranton. The ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà often competes for students against institutions whose larger endowments give them an unbeatable advantage in financial aid. To ensure that Scranton continues to kindle the fires of the best and brightest students regardless of their financial means, it is critical that the ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà increase its endowment. In addition to supporting students with limited economic resources, the campus-wide plan for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) will help guide Scranton toward creating a more inclusive community and campus culture. By achieving our goal of $52.5 million for access-specific causes, The ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà will continue to stoke the fires of knowledge within all who seek its warmth.

Achieving Excellence

As always, the relentless pursuit of excellence remains a defining characteristic of a Scranton education. By achieving our $22.5 million goal, The ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌà will continue to light the way to a better tomorrow in the decades to come.
