³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ

Performance Management

The goal of the performance management program is to provide a process to retain and develop talented staff that is consistent with the mission and strategic plan of The ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ.

Following, are three principles that were used to develop the Performance Management Program:

  1. Align all staffs' work and outcomes with the mission and strategic plan and the goals of the ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ.
  2. Encourage two-way communications about performance that is constructive, not adversarial, in a partnership between staff and supervisor.
  3. Create a fair means to recognize high performance and address poor performance.

Open Communication throughout the year is the most important part of performance management.

To prepare for the Performance Management Program's cycle, staff and supervisors should:

  1. Review the ³Ô¹ÏÌìÌÃ's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
  2. Review and/or update the staff member's job description in coordination with the Office of Human Resources.
  3. Develop performance expectations and goals.
  4. Determine a plan for training that may be needed for the staff member to be successful and create achievable goals.
  5. Review the performance appraisal with the staff member.
